Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve always wanted to make a difference in the world. My love for animals and nature kept me day dreaming about ways I could make a difference. No matter how small it was.
My experience with cloth diapers and travelling has been great. The fact that I had access to a washer and dryer was an advantage. I recently went to visit my sister who got married earlier this year. The plane ride was smooth and no I had to problems as I used my most reliable diaper for the journey. My only complaint will be the small baby changing facility in the plane.
I never knew cloth diapers still existed, I always heard about it because my grandmother mentioned a few times. My mother used disposable diapers with my little brother and I never thought that one day I will cloth diaper my child. My son was experiencing cow’s milk allergy, which displayed in many ways including eczema, painful blisters in his bottom and skin irritation to some fabrics such as wool. I researched the internet and came across a mother whose son experienced eczema and she mentioned that cloth diapers stopped her son’s irritation. I then started to research more into it and decided to give them a try. I was a bit sceptical about them at first but it worked like magic, no more painful blisters on my son’s bottom!

When we began researching cloth diapers, we came across a lot of advice. "Snaps will last you longer." "AIO's are good for Dads and caregivers." "Try a bunch of different brands." "Double gussets hold leaks in." And that was just the beginning. But no one mentioned what to do when your baby enters the "wiggly worm" phase. For all the amazing qualities of cloth diapers, they don't matter if you can't actually get the diaper on your baby's tush. For us, the wiggling started early, around six months and has only gotten worse as he's gotten older (he's 10.5months now). Getting our son to lay down during a diaper change is like wrestling with a polar bear. Once he began crawling it got even worse; he was out of the room, butt in the air, diaper trailing behind him, before we could finish a change.
Cloth diapering a newborn is not as straightforward and easy as cloth diapering a toddler. When I first started cloth diapering, my first baby, she was already 18 months and fit into every diaper I had tried on her.I had my choice of cloth diapers and was able to experiment to see which ones were the best for us. I didnt mind the investment so late in the game, because I knew that I would start cloth diapering our second baby right from the start- or at least I thought we would.
It was late one Thursday evening, my husband was coming home late that day and I had the thought, oh no! I forgot to put out the diapers. I scrambled to my daughters room and remembered, wait there are no diapers to put out. I felt the same the Friday after our last pick up. Where are the diapers? Did we leave them out all night?

When I went back to work, we had to (unfortunately) discontinue our diaper service and use that money for daycare (sob)....which started my adventure of researching and discovering the thousands of options for cloth diapers out there.
After hours and hours of research, it seemed to me that BumGenius was a reputable name, and the thought of all-in-ones seemed exciting to me! Heading back to work, anything that was more convenient sounded like a good idea! So I decided to splurge and try BumGenius all-in-one on my little one! Read more....
I was really excited when I received my Snappi and Boingo in the mail from Natures Premiere a few days ago. There had been a shipping issue (on the part of the post office) but with some amazing customer service they got a new one out to me immediately and I got it in a few days. A lot of companies would have left me to deal with the issue and instead they were proactive about it, which is huge for me. I certainly won't hesitate receiving an order from them again based on how they handled the shipping issue alone.
