Each week you will be provided with a weeks worth of cotton diapers. Newborns and infants typically use between 75-90 diapers per week whereas older babies and young toddlers use between 45-60. These diapers are delivered to your door, washed, dried, and folded. You leave your bag of dirty diapers in a visible spot outside on your delivery day, and our driver will pick it up and replace it with the new bag. You do not need to be home for delivery. Once you receive your diapers, take them out of the water proof bag and use it to line your hamper. At the end of the week on your designated day, put all dirty diapers outside and the driver will swap them for fresh, clean diapers. Its that simple!
What is Included
Our service includes the use of our cotton prefold diapers and the laundering of these items. We also offer different packages that include snappis, covers diaper pails etc.
What You Do
On your delivery day all you need to do is put the dirty diapers into the hospital grade wet bag provided and leave it in the pre-designated area (front porch for houses, in front of doors for apartments etc.). Please shake out any big solids into toilet and flush to help prevent stains and limit diaper pail odor. Our service then takes away the full bag and leaves you with a set of clean diapers. There is no reason to rinse the diapers before putting them in the hamper. We do that for you. Please do not try to wash diapers at home as home laundering generally causes detergent buildup and can stain diapers.
Delivery Day/Time We ask that all new sign ups register with Nature's Premiere at least 4 weeks before their delivery date. It generally takes us 2 weeks to process your order. We aim to schedule your first drop off 2 weeks before your due date, so you have the diapers on hand and ready for when baby comes. As soon as you have your baby just give our office a call 877-49-CLOTH, and we will get you into our delivery route for the coming week. Your delivery day is determined by your location. Your delivery time varies from week to week since we are constantly re routing for new deliveries so please make arrangements for a hassle-free pick up and delivery when you order service (if you live in an apartment building). We ask that you have your diapers outside and ready for the switch by 7pm.on your scheduled day. If you forget to leave out your soiled diapers we will try knocking and calling the number on file (if before 9pm-after that we will need to reschedule a re route for you where there is a charge of $20.00 to cover our driver and gas). If we miss the pickup, we will still leave clean diapers for that week. For any missed deliveries there will be a $20 charge added to your account to cover the re-route fee for our driver since the diapers cannot sit in your home until the next pickup.
Our Count System:
This is the way our diaper service figures out how many diapers we send.
The first 2 weeks we deliver a full count of fresh, clean diapers.
The third week we deliver the amount that was dirty the first week.
Like this:
Week 1 - We delivered 80 clean diapers.
Week 2 - We delivered 80 clean diapers. We picked up 77 dirty diapers from Week 1.
Week 3 - We delivered 77 clean diapers. We picked up 68 dirty diapers from Week 2.
Week 4 - We delivered 68 clean diapers. We picked up 75 dirty diapers from Week 3,
and so on.

You are also receiving weekly pick-up, cleaning, and delivery of your diapers and any other diapering supplies that you may need right to your door. Where is your delivery area? TOP
We service all of Suffolk and Nassau County Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx and Manhattan New York.
I live in an apartment building, do I need to provide a key? TOP
We do ask that you provide us with a key to your building so our driver can be in and out when switching your diapers. Being that we do our deliveries at night, we need a quick and easy way to access your building to make the switch without any issues. We can leave the diapers with a doorman if you do not want to leave a key or we can leave them in a safe spot within your complex. Buzzing us in isn't really an option (unless you don't mind being woken up at 2 am) so that is why we ask for a key. We do have many customers with unique situations so feel free to give us a call if the above options do not work for you. How do i use cloth diapers? TOP
Since cloth diapers are not mainstream (yet!) Many people are intimidated by using them. We will help you become confident in using your new chosen diaper by giving you an at home consultation (by appointment only) . During your consultation we will decide how many diapers you will need per week. We will go over folding techniques, diaper area care and what to do with the dirty diapers that need to be picked up.
Is using a diaper service sanitary? TOP
Yes. We are a professional laundering service that follows the strictest guidelines on sanitation in our facility. We do not mix your babies diapers with another babies diapers when laundering..ever!
How does NPDS wash my babies diapers? TOP
We care about your baby and their health so we handle washing cotton diapers with care that you just can't match at home. Our water temperatures reach way over 150 degrees in our 14 step soak/wash/sanitize/rinse routine to insure that we fully sanitize all diapers, We use only high grade, energy efficient industrial washing machines and dryers to effectively clean all diapers without wasting water like home washing does ( and it does waste a ton of water!). We are proud to say that we are one of the only diaper services in the country that uses an EPA certified detergent! Our meticulous rinsing also makes sure there is no soap or detergent residue left in the diapers to irritate your baby's skin. Rest assured your baby is safe using our service!
Where Do I Keep My Soiled Diapers? TOP
We provide our customers with a hospital grade, waterproof pail liner for their diapers. This bag will be used to line your pail. Please shake any solid poo into the toilet. We make every effort to return personal items which may accidentally get put in with the diapers. However, we cannot be responsible for their return or the condition in which they may be returned. Please avoid putting plastic bags, plastic diapers, disposable wipes, etc. in your bag as they can cause damage to our equipment. Be sure to turn in all of your soiled diapers each week. If you have any clean diapers left over you do not need to turn them in, just hang onto to them and keep them in your diaper rotation.
How And When Do I Pay? TOP
Like most rental services, NPDS requires payment in advance. To begin service, we require 4 weeks payment. plus a credit card to keep on file. After that, we bill monthly with invoices going out about a week before your payment is due for the following month. We accept payment in cash, check, all major credit cards. Payments should be secured to the *outside* of the soiled diaper bag. If you're gifting someone with diaper service, we will bill you directly.
Do I have to sign a contract? TOP
No, you may cancel at any time. Simply let us know before your last delivery and we will pick up all diapers and bags. There is a $30 pick up fee on your last pickup (covers the driver, and laundering of the diapers). Please note that there will be a charge for each diaper not returned.
Can I use them when I go out? TOP
Today's cloth diapers are so easy to use that anyone can put one on. Just bring a waterproof wet bag out or provide one for your caregiver. All they have to do is toss the diaper in the wet bag, and store until you get it home and can throw it in your diaper pail. It's that easy!
What do I do if the diaper cover gets dirty? TOP
Diaper covers can be washed on any normal machine wash cycle. They are very durable and will be fine through many, many washings. You can also spot wash them with your baby's normal detergent in the bathroom sink and hang them in the tub to dry. We always recommend having at least 4-6 covers in rotation.
What are Snappies? Should I use them? TOP
Snappi's are the modern version of diaper pins. Using them will hold the diaper on your baby more snugly and will minimize or prevent poop from staining the cover. Some parents love them, some don't. Nature's Premiere provides 1 Snappi with start up kit additional Snappi's can be purchased from Nature's Premiere Diaper Service for $3.50 each.
What is a diaper cover? TOP
A diaper cover goes over the prefold diapers that Nature's Premiere Diaper Service provides. Being that it is waterproof, it prevents leaks and keeps babies clothes dry. It has Velcro tabs that easily fasten the cover onto the baby to make a snug fit. We recommend either thirsties, bummis, biobottoms, or imse vimse wool diaper covers and sell them on our online store.
How Often Should I Change My Baby? TOP
Regardless of what kind of diaper you use, you should change your baby at least every two hours. Changing frequently greatly reduces the chance of diaper rash. Bacteria begins to form as soon as a child wets or soils, and leaving a diaper on a baby for prolonged periods can not only produce irritation but compromise the skin to the point of serious infection. The chemical dryness of disposables has produced a great lowering of standards in baby care because parents are led to believe that as long as the diaper feels dry, it's all right to leave on. It isn't! Dry does not mean clean, and the urine absorbed by the chemicals used in disposables stays right next to a baby's skin. (As do feces, which are a tremendous breeding ground for noxious bacteria.) Chemicals are not a substitute for the attention babies need, and "set-and-forget" diapering is not healthy.
Will I get the same diaper's back? TOP
Yes - your service is personalized. You'll receive the same diapers back each week, except for diapers that are badly stained or worn out, which are replaced. We never mix and match with another baby's diapers! Our small grade commercial washing machines allow us to launder each customer's diapers separately while still using less electric and water then home laundering. We take pride in our green laundering practices, so if you ever have any questions, just ask! We are are happy to give you a detailed description of how your diapers are laundered.
Do you have a referral program? TOP
We sure do! Current customers will receive 1 free week of service when they refer a friend to our service as our way of saying thanks :).
How do i cancel service? TOP
When potty training is complete, or you are no longer in need of our service, please call our office one week in advance to discontinue service. On the last service day, please put any clean diapers with the soiled. This way we will get a full count of diapers returned. Aside from the $35 pickup fee for the week (covers driver and laundering of the diapers) there are no additional cancellation fees. If all diapers are not returned you will be charged the full retail price of each diaper.
If canceling for any other reason, please let us know! We are here to make a difference in our community and want to make sure our service is the best for our customers. Let us know how we can improve, we love feedback!
Can I use cloth diaper's at night? TOP
Of course! There are many ways you can double up babies nighttime diaper. We recommend using fleece liners or doublers along with a wool cover. We actually highly recommend using wool covers for night time instead of the PUL covers (thirsties, bummis etc). Wool covers help circulate the air through the diaper thus creating a breathable environment for your babies bum, helping to prevent diaper rash. Learn more about wool under our information section named "why wool?". |
